Los esfuerzos de adaptación para ajustarse a un segundo matrimonio pueden provocar o exacerbar el Síndrome de Alienación Parental (PAS).

NOTA ACLARATORIA:
(1) El proceso comienza generalmente antes del nuevo matrimonio, frecuentemente cuando el antiguo cónyuge conoce por primera vez la relación. También en algunos casos, aunque raros, el nuevo matrimonio contribuye a aliviar el PAS; este fenómeno queda fuera del tratamiento de este artículo.
